Revenue is divided into four main components: performance-based bonuses, starting bonuses, market pool and the UEFA coefficient rankings.
Pillar 1: Performance-related bonuses are awarded based on the clubs' sporting performance. The bonuses amount to 2.8 million euros per win and 930,000 euros per draw in the group phase. The total amount for performance-related bonuses is 600.60 million euros.
Pillar 2: Starting bonuses are awarded to all 32 participating clubs. Each club receives a bonus of 15.64 million euros. Of this, 14.8 million euros will be paid out and 840,000 euros will be withheld due to the effects of the COVID pandemic in the 2019/20 and 2020/21 seasons and paid out in installments until 2023/24.
Pillar 3: The market pool is distributed to the respective association in proportion to the respective value of the television market that the clubs participating in the UEFA Champions League represent. The sum will be divided into two parts: Market pool part 1, amounting to 150.15 million euros (50%), will be divided proportionally according to the respective value of the television market of each association and then distributed to the affected clubs within the association. Market pool part 2, amounting to 150.15 million euros (50%), is based on the games played in the current Champions League season.
Pillar 4: The UEFA coefficient rankings will be used to award an additional bonus of €600.6 million to participating clubs. This reward is awarded proportionally based on position on the leaderboard.
