Premier league revenues 2015/16 to 2020/21

The Premier League is one of the most well-known football leagues in the world and has seen increasing sales for years. In the last six seasons from 2015/16 to 2020/21, Premier League revenues have totaled over €34 billion. In particular, income from TV rights increased rapidly during this period. However, income from ticket sales, merchandising and sponsoring has also remained at a high level. In this list we detail Premier League revenues from 2015/16 to 2021/22.

  • 2015/16: €4,989 million

  • 2016/17: €5,464 million

  • 2017/18: €5,746 million

  • 2018/19: €6,020 million

  • 2019/20: €5,204 million

  • 2020/21: €4,957 million

  • 2021/22: €5,528 million

Premier League revenues have risen steadily over the past few years and, taken as a whole, set a new record for the 2020/21 financial year despite the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic. The income from the TV rights in particular plays a decisive role here, as it makes up the largest share of the total sales. It is to be expected that the revenues of the Premier League will continue to grow in the future as the league has a high level of international appeal and is also able to adapt to changing market conditions.
